Skyskraperen

Food and experiences that bring people together.

Inside Skyskraperen with a view of the mountains

Bergen’s highest-altitude dining venue, 643 metres above the city. Restaurant, event and conference space with West Norwegian food culture and a panorama of seven mountains and the sea beyond.

The project story

Skyskraperen was built as the new mountain restaurant during the revival of Ulriken643, opening with the cable car on 1 May 2009. It has since grown into one of Bergen’s most distinctive dining venues, hosting celebrations, conferences and meals high above the city.

The place

The name is a Bergen wink: the city’s only skyscraper is not downtown but at the top of Ulriken. With the city like a map below and seven mountains on the horizon, the place is an experience in itself before the food is even served.

Vision and concept

Skyskraperen is about the meal you remember. West Norwegian produce in season, a panoramic terrace where the city lies like a map below you, and a setting no other restaurant in Bergen can offer. People come here to celebrate, to gather and to see their city anew.

Milepel's role

Developed by Milepel as part of the revitalisation of Ulriken643, and run as a central part of the mountain experience.
